Life and Meaning
This week has been about learning about self motivation and the organization of my life. I was asked to write down a bucket list of 50 things I want to accomplish. This was particularly difficult for me.
When I was 21 I had made a goal to retire by the time I was 50 and serve a full-time LDS mission. I worked so hard to get this accomplished and with the Lords help I was help to retire at the age of 44. However, life changes and at the age of 43 I had a son. Due to the LDS rules I can not serve a mission with children in the home. This is a perfect example of setting goals and adjusting according to what life experiences bring. I will now serve a mission at the age of 60. I wouldn't change anything! I absolutely love my son.
The Stars and Stepping Stones project we had to accomplished this week, really helped me put my life in a new view. It helped me put a plan together for the future again. Also, I was able to put the stepping stones in writing that will help me get to the stars. The three careers that could get me to my star is business consulting, public speaking and venture capitalist. I feel like all or any of these careers will help me be fulfilled in life.
I also appreciated the guardrails of life. I have always had certain standards I focused my life around. However, it was so important to write those down and remind me of them.
